About Me

Hi, and Welcome to my page!

I am Palomi Kurade, a minority and diversity researcher in LGBTQ Psychology.  I am a Postgraduate Research Associate at the Yale School of Public Health's Yale LGBTQ Mental Health Initiative, New York. I graduated with an MSc in Applied Psychology in May 2024 from the Central University of Andhra Pradesh. I completed my BSc in Psychology, Human Development and Family Resource Management in 2022 from the University of Mysore. Through my work, I examine discrimination behaviors, stereotypes, internalized stigma, social and health disparities and inequalities for individuals with multiple diverse identities, especially for LGBTQIA+ people of color.

I was the former Lab Manager and Research Assistant at the PWR Lab at Florida International University and a former Research Intern at Evolve, a mental health application for LGBTQIA+ individuals. I previously worked as a research assistant at Stony Brook University and the Association of Child Brain Research

In addition to my role as a researcher, I founded Research Mynd, where I would provide research training to underrepresented students in social sciences.

When I'm not engaged in academic work, I enjoy crocheting, swimming, reading, painting, and spending time with animals!
